Hello, I am Jodi Druss; a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I obtained my Master's Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in 1996. I began my career working with physically and developmentally disabled individuals, which provided me with a knowledge base in behavior modification and pharmaceutical treatments. After witnessing the effect of trauma on personality development, I began to shift my focus towards children and families in crisis via the child welfare system.
I continued to work with children for over a decade in a variety of settings, both inpatient and community settings. I continued assisting children and their families in healing from trauma and began repairing family bonds. Additionally, I worked in the field of addictions for several years. My professional experience includes a wide variety of disorders that range from everyday adjustments in life to mood and thought disorders. I've worked with all ages and personality types.
As a native New Yorker and Social Worker, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by a rich tapestry of cultures in various settings, allowing me a fuller understanding of the human experience. As a psychotherapist, I utilize a non-judgemental approach which allows my clients to feel accepted and supported to join together in a collaborative effort for creating change. I approach situations with a strength-based perspective encouraging my clients to use their talents and build on already existing skills.
